Psalm 92

A Song  for the Sabbath

How good it is to give thanks to Jehovah
And to sing in praise your name, O Most High,
To proclaim your kindness in the morning
And your fidelity in the evening.
To play music upon a ten-stringed harp
And upon a lyre of melodious tone.
You gladden me with your deeds, Jehovah.
I sing of your accomplishments with joy.
How great your works, Jehovah, how deep your thoughts!

People without sense do not know,
Nor are fools able to understand
That though the wicked spring up like weeds,
And doers of evil flourish,
They will forever be destroyed.

But you, Jehovah, are forever exalted!

Behold your enemies, Jehovah,
Behold, your enemies will perish,
All evildoers will be scattered.
You have strengthened me like a wild ox.
With fine oil have you anointed me.
I have seen my enemies’ defeat,
And when they attack me, I hear them.
The righteous flourish like a palm tree;
They grow like cedars of Lebanon.
Planted in the house of Jehovah,
They will thrive in the court of our god.
In old age they will still bear fruit
And will remain fertile and green,
Showing that  Jehovah is just,
That he is my rock, my protector —
There is no injustice in him.
