I love Jehovah because he hears
My voice and my supplications.
Because he inclines his ear to me,
I’ll call on him as long as I live.
The cords of death were tangled about me
And the torments of the grave possessed me.
I was overcome by trouble and grief.
Then I called upon the name of Jehovah,
“O Jehovah, I pray, deliver my soul!”
How gracious and righteous is Jehovah;
Indeed our god is full of compassion.
Jehovah protects the simple of heart.
When I was brought down, he gave me succor.
Return then to your solace, O my soul,
For Jehovah has given you his bounty.
For you have delivered me from death,
My eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling
That might walk before Jehovah
In the domain of living men.
Therefore, in faith have I spoken,
“I have been greatly afflicted.”
In haste I said, “All men are liars.”
How can I repay Jehovah
For all the good he has done me?
I will raise to him the cup of salvation
And call upon the name of Jehovah.
I will fulfill my vows to Jehovah
In the presence of all his worshipers.
Of much concern to the sight of Jehovah
Is the death of his faithful followers.
Indeed, Jehovah, I am your servant.
I am your servant, son of your maidservant.
You have freed me from my shackles and chains.
To you I will make a thank offering
And call upon the name of Jehovah.
I will fulfill my vows to Jehovah
In the presence of all his worshipers.
In the courts of the house of Jehovah,
In the center of you, Jerusalem.
Hallelujah!
